2015 Softball Leagues (Season of Change)

2015 Coon Rapids Softball Leagues

Welcome to the 2015 adult softball season. Again this year we will provide a high quality league to meet your recreational needs. There will be changes to the league over the next two seasons due to the renovation of Sand Creek Park.  Thanks for your patience as we look forward to a beautiful updated complex in 2017.

1.  Leagues are limited this year due to the renovation at Sand Creek.  We have two lighted fields and two non-lighted fields.  Since leagues space is limited, the following registration policy will be in place going forward.

REGISTRATION DATES (teams must register during their applicable dates below!)

(Registration will not be taken beforehand)

a. February 9, 2015: All teams that meet eligibility requirements for a Coon Rapids team. In order to be eligible, all of the players (except for four) must live in Coon Rapids or work full time in Coon Rapids.

b. February 10 & 11, 2015: Returning non-resident summer teams. Returning team must consist of at least six players from last year’s roster.

c. February 12 & 13, 2015: Returning non –resident fall teams. Returning team must consist of at least six players from last year’s roster.

d. February 17, 2015: New non-resident teams.
e. April 10: Last day to register a softball team – only if space is available.

2. The leagues will be strictly double-header leagues and played at Al Flynn Park and Anoka Ramsey Community College.

3. All leagues will continue to be registered with the MRPA/USSSA. This gives your team the opportunity to play in USSSA sanctioned tournaments and post-season.

4. We will continue to use our “House” league rules. The on-field game will not change from years past.

5. Bat- USSSA bats will be allowed in 2015.  You will need bats with the 2013 stamp. No grandfathered bats.

6. Leagues are “D” league or lower in classification. If you are a tournament team, or have more than 2 “C” or above players, this league is likely not for your team.
